Sunna’ Al-Amal held an open day to discuss the final case presentation “Seminars” for Psychotherapy High Diploma students, which commenced in the year of 2017 and will end in September 2019, whereas 14 seminars were presented by the students.
General Director Fadwa Abbad commenced this event, as she wished the students good luck in their academic and professional paths; moreover, she thanked the audience for attending, which consisted of other students and supervisors, who gave everything they could to develop this program. She also thanked the administration of Al-Quds University as an academic partner for Sunna’ Al-Amal.
Moreover, she thanked the Board of Trustees and administration, in addition to the dedicated staff of Sunna Al-Amal for their efforts and loyalty.
In addition, Dr. Walid Al-Shomali, Head of the Board of Trustees, gave a speech that essentially revolved around the leadership role of Sunna’ Al-Amal, the importance of this High Diploma program, the importance of individual and group supervision, in addition to seminars, campaigns and workshops conducted by Sunna’ Al-Amal that raise the awareness about mental health, and sharpens the skills of the students; this program is special in the way theory meets with practice.
Consequently, Dr. Yoad and Murad talked about the importance of this day, which is like a cherry on the top for the students’ two-years journey. They appreciate the dedication of Sunna’ Al-Amal in making this program work. This is a global project that supports the students financially and academically; whereas it relies on professional advanced techniques to solve psychological and social problems, and highlights many issues, as takes into consideration the cultural, social, political and educational traits of the Palestinian society.
Therefore, the students commenced their final case presentations; which is like their seminars after concluding 27 credit. These presentations highlighted the nature of the psychological and social issues existing in the Palestinian contest, which the students handled since they joined this program. Consequently, it projected the span of their abilities, skills and techniques that they have adopted ever since they joined this academic program. It projected the hard work and efforts that they have conducted over the past two year.
The students come from a variety of cultural backgrounds, as each was raised from a different environment; geographically and culturally as well. This High Diploma program targeted students who differ in these areas; moreover, it also focused on having students who work in governmental and non-governmental institutions.
By the end of the day, the supervisors thanked the students for their hard work and dedication. In addition, they provided the students with feedback and recommendation, which they need in order to improve their performance in the future.
The students expressed their gratitude for Sunna’ Al-Amal, for everything that they have done, and for all the support that they have provided during these past two years.
